Thanksgiving marked the first day of Christmas movies. Actually, it basically marked the first day of Christmas for my family. Black Friday wasn’t spent shopping, unless shopping for Christmas trees counts. Seeing as we spent Thanksgiving in Connecticut, we would venture out to the greatest Christmas tree farm and haul our oversized tree all the way home to Weston. We did not joke around when it came to 25 Days of Christmas. Grades plunged from A’s to B’s as there was just not time for schoolwork because Christmas movies always came first. Christmas Eve marked the best day ever. The morning was spent at Nonnas, cooking the seven course meal that shortly awaited us. Christmas Eve still marks the best day ever however, Christmas does not mean the same. As we got older, our priorities changed. Christmas came in a blink of an eye, and ended even faster. The sound of our favorite movies lingered between the wall, because we could no longer allow our grades to plunge. As I got older, our favorite things and traditions seemed less important. However, seeing as it is senior year, I make it a priority not to miss Christmas movies!

Same here! I love watching Christmas movies with a nice cup of hot coco or tea. It truly is the best time of year. I love it. I totally agree: after thanksgiving it is christmas time. I mean Old Navy has been getting holiday shipment since halloween.
ReplyDeleteYou couldn't have said it better about the start of Christmas being the first day after Thanksgiving. To be honest, everything you said I totally agree with. Every year, the month of December goes by fast and faster and I hate it because it is my favorite month. I always spend every night studying and doing homework because since the quarter ends right after winter break, the work gets piled on. But this year, I am too making sure I find the time and make the time to watch as many movies as possible and spending as much time with my family as possible. Every night for the past week, I check out the Hallmark channel and ABC Family (or should I say Free Form?) as well to see if there are any good movies on.
ReplyDeleteYou've made me realize how much I need to catch up on my Christmas movies!! You're totally right too, about December coming and going so quickly, I definitely want to make this one last and soak up every moment of it. I think that telling yourself that you'll make this Christmas really count almost guarantee that it will. Maybe its just me but I find that if I tell myself to make something happen, I will. Happy Holidays!
